Originally performed by jevetta steele. jeff performed it live with gods and monsters (the group formed by him and gary lucas) at the knitting factory, new york, on august 15 1992.
A desert road from vegas to nowhere
Some place better than where youve been
A coffee machine that needs some fixing
In a little caf just around the bend
I am calling you
Cant you hear me
I am calling you
A hot dry wind blows right thru me
The babys crying and cant sleep
But we both know a change is coming
Coming closer sweet release
I am calling you
I know you hear me
I am calling you oh
